ALION project: one more step towards an Aluminium-Ion battery

On the 26th and 27th of May, the ALION consortium met in Grenoble (France) for its 12 months meeting hosted by the CEA. Partners reported their activities after the first year of the execution of the project. This included presentations and discussions around topics such as the anode and cathode materials, the electrode manufacturing and the cell assembly. Much of the current development is still confidential as the technologies are highly innovative and have a great potential in the field of energy storage produced by decentralised sources.

The project has still three years to go and to show how Aluminium-Ion batteries could impact the battery industry and propose a possible alternative to current energy storage technologies.
